Ukraine Mission
Vans Without Borders began operating in Ukraine in April 2022, and supports communities across the nation by delivering vital aid where it’s needed most. We pioneered aid routes across Ukraine reaching people who had been presumed dead or captured and worked on linking up humanitarian organisations across Ukraine to allow them to create a powerful aid network.
Working with local partners and volunteers, we transport food, medical supplies, hygiene kits, and essential equipment to frontline towns and hard-to-reach areas. By staying flexible and community-led, we respond quickly as needs change, which allows us to bridge gaps when traditional supply chains can’t.
Since our launch Vans Without Borders has delivered hundreds of tonnes of humanitarian aid and supported thousands of refugees across Ukraine. We specialise in supporting communities directly under bombardment from the Russian forces, with a focus on assisting families with children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
In Ukraine, every mile matters, and our team of volunteers operate from Lviv to the Donbas supporting a range of Ukrainian organisations such as hospitals, schools, hospices, care homes and charities for people with disabilities, alongside individual cases of people in need.
